For the past three years I have worked at Culver City. Everytime I travel to get to work I can see the Stairs from inside the train. At that distance they resemble a pyramid. And for that long period of time I have never visited them. Having heard from my coworkers how beautiful the city looks from up there, or how easily one can get sore legs after finishing the trail, or even vomiting once reaching the top. Made me decide to venture there on my next day off.

I woke up my sister early in the morning and invited her to tag along, cuz we like to party! Coming from south central LA our trip begins at Exposition Park. The train station was crowded, around this time people are heading to work and others to school. Some Important landmarks that can be found here are the new LAFC stadium, the Rose Garden, and USC.

Our stop La Cienega station. From up here you can see the Stairs and chain stores like Mc Donals, Target, and Starbucks. Lucky us Starbucks was right downstairs across the street.

We ordered two Nitro Cold Brews. On the first sip I was fired up. Before reaching the Stairs we had to walk a couple of blocks. We made a quick stop at Target and peeked around. We agreed to come back after our hike to pick up some goodies. We had never seen a Target this huge before.

After a twenty minute walk we arrived. We walk in, people were getting ready for their morning routines. Others were coming down from the Stairs. At this point you have two options to reach the top. You can either climb the Stairs or head for the zig zag trails. In my opinion the Stairs seems the fastest option since it’s a straight path, that is if you have the stamina to keep up the same pace. We opt for the trails.

Through the whole hike we were the only ones with coffee in our hands. Seeing everybody with their water bottles and shakes made me feel like a spectator or tourist. At the end of the trail I was expecting a flat top. To my surprise we encounter multiple narrow trails and small hills. One led us to a spectacular view!

Here I could breath the cool morning breeze. I took this moment to relax and contemplate the things I want to accomplish this year. Even though we’re four months in there’s still time to get things done. I plan to write consistently, stick to my workouts, and learn new technologies. And one more thing, shoot more TikTok videos!
